Ashlyn is an associate at Hartsell & Williams, P.A., and started at the firm shortly after graduating from Campbell University School of Law. Ashlyn is from Winston Salem, NC and moved to Raleigh, NC to attend North Carolina State University. At NC State, Ashlyn majored in history and political science, and graduated summa cum laude. Prior to attending law school, Ashlyn interned for various law firms in the Raleigh area and gained valuable insight of the legal system and how to foster effective attorney-client relationships.
At Campbell, Ashlyn participated in the Richard Lord moot court competition where she strengthened her writing and oral advocacy skill set. She and her co-counsel won the title of “Best Brief.” During her first summer break at Campbell, Ashlyn returned to Winston Salem to intern at the Forsyth County Public Defender’s Office where she (developed a passion for ensuring everyone has access to effective counsel, honed her attention to detail, and gained valuable perspective, empathy, and compassion while meeting with clients). During her second summer, Ashlyn obtained her third year practice license and interned at Hartsell & Williams, P.A. During her summer internship here, Ashlyn gained invaluable courtroom experience, developed her knowledge in criminal defense, family law, and child welfare law, and improved her writing, oral advocacy, and attention to detail skills. These experiences allow Ashlyn to connect with her clients and empathize with difficult circumstances that her clients may be facing.
While not working, Ashlyn enjoys spending time and traveling with her Fiancé, Brendan, and their families and friends, going to hot yoga classes, and trying new restaurants in the Charlotte-area.
