Sofia is an associate attorney at Hartsell & Williams, P.A. Sofia was born in Mexico City, Mexico, and moved to Birmingham, Alabama, at an early age. She spent her childhood in Houston, Texas, then moved to South Boston, Virginia, and later to Raleigh, North Carolina.
Sofia attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte for her undergraduate degree, where she double-majored in Philosophy and Political Science and had a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies.
Shortly after graduating, Sofia attended Campbell University School of Law. Sofia spent two of her three years at Campbell competing internationally in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, the largest arbitration moot competition and the second largest moot overall. She represented Campbell in Hong Kong both years and won an Honorable Mention for Best Respondent Memorandum in her second year. Sofia was active in the Hispanic Law Student Association and served as President for three semesters. She also helped reinstate the Phi Alpha Delta Fraternity and served as Vice Justice in her last year.
At graduation, Sofia was admitted to the Order of Kivett and passed the North Carolina Bar Exam immediately thereafter.
At Hartsell & Williams, Sofia’s practice focuses on general civil litigation, business formations, commercial litigation, breach of contract, business disputes, collections, deed preparations, landlord-tenant law, and more. She brings a compassionate approach while working diligently to achieve the best outcomes for those she represents.
When she’s not working, Sofia enjoys spending time with her husband and their two cats, Yoko and Lilac. She also loves baking sourdough bread, exploring Charlotte, and attending CLT FC matches.
