David has proven, since his joining of Hartsell and Williams in 1996, to be a valuable asset to the firm and a trusted counselor to his clients. His roots in North Carolina extend to his college days as a Sociology Major at Duke University where he learned the value of understanding human culture and empathizing with modern movements. Eventually, this would serve in his excellence in his profession and promote a positive reputation among his clients and colleagues.
After Duke University David pursued his law degree at Campbell University School of Law. An ‘intensely personal’ and intentionally small university, Campbell School of Law helped David develop interpersonal skills that served in his ability to advise and handle intense legal issues with clients. This attribute has served in the accolades that David has achieved in his career thus far.
Though he often specializes and assists clients with all types of residential and commercial real estate transactions, including purchases, refinances, 1031 tax free exchanges and commercial leases, he maintains an extensive knowledge of several areas of the law. David also advises clients with corporate or LLC issues and has participated in the organization, merger and dissolution of various companies.
His specialization and intricate understanding of the legal issues that businesses face has kept him, to many in the community, a trusted resource. David advocates for businesses and his clients to have a thorough understanding of what’s at stake, legally and personally, in the face of ownership issues.
David’s ability to connect on a personal level and his exhibition of humility often lends itself as traits that better the community of Cabarrus. After serving as multiple seats in the Cabarrus County Bar Association, David pursued a place in office at Habitat for Humanity Cabarrus County, Inc. His presidential contribution ended in 2004, however, David remains an avid Cabarrus County supporter, volunteer, and sits on the board of Meals on Wheels, Cabarrus County.
David continues to be a proven asset and well-spring of knowledge and mentorship at Hartsell and Williams. The firm, and the community, look forward to his continued success, partnership, and presence.
